Reflections of the Year

Throughout the school year, you have been encouraged to make healthier lifestyle choices.  What major topics stuck with you this year?  What changes do you feel you have made based on what you learned in this classroom?  Have you shared this information with others, and if so, how do you feel you have impacted their lives and overall wellness?

Run!

Can we get 40% participation in the Run to Fund?  It's local, it supports our district, and its a fun way to be healthy! Sign up for the one mile fun run, the 5k or the 10k at  Coppell Ed Foundation for the run on Saturday, May 11.

You can also register for the Run for Life 5K, benefiting the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, at Andy Brown on May 18 at 8am.  Sign up with Coach Farris in the field house or in Mrs. Henson's room (C213).

The Farm to Table Experience

Can you prepare a healthy, balanced meal for your family from the local farmers market?  How are fresh foods more nutritionally sound than packaged foods you purchase at the grocery store? What benefits are provided from shopping locally?  Visit the local farmers market and create a meal for your family that is healthy, balanced, and local.  Coppell spring market is open from 8:00am until noon.  Take a picture while you are there to verify your attendance and email to our photobucket.  What did your family think about your cooking skills?   Would you visit the farmers market again?

New Zealand Skype

What did you think about the Skype with New Zealand?  Do you feel you learned something about their culture in comparison to ours? What do you think they learned from us? What did you learn?
(Other than we need new wifi) :)
